BASIC FUNCTION Perform routine repairs, preventative maintenance, and installation of equipment, under close supervision and in a timely manner, to minimize disruptions of site operations. Oversee the Maintenance store room inventory CORE RESPONSIBILITIES Perform basic preventive maintenance and repairs (and reassembly) of production and facility equipment, under the guidance of the Maintenance Lead or Supervisor. Conduct basic electrical or mechanical installation, repair, and troubleshooting of motors, instrumentation and/or controls using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges. Complete machinery and system inspections. Proactively identify and resolve issues in the assigned area of activity by following department check-lists, instructions, and cleaning and lubricating parts. Identify basic deviations, defects, damages, or malfunctions and document and report them, per Standard Operating Procedure (SOP). ID & Generate PR's and for the creation of spare part BOMs and external parts needed for job planning. Conduct Cycle Counts for inventory management Safely use tools and equipment, including precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices. Ability to coordinate assistance with other Maintenance Operators, as needed, to complete tasks. Work in accordance with all relevant requirements, including but not limited to ATEX, GMP, AIB, OSHA, HACCP, FDA, and internal safety and sanitation guidelines. Communicate potentially hazardous conditions, as they appear. Participate in Lean activities in designated areas. Understand and comply with proper equipment and work area sanitation policies. Ensure work area is clean and in order during and after work shifts, following appropriate SOPs and/or supervisor's instructions. Perform administrative duties including, but not limited to, creating and closing work requests using Maintenance management system (i.e: ERP, SAP). Notify supervisor in case of emergency, safety issue, or abnormal situation. Excellent attendance, flexibility, enthusiasm, and a positive approach to work performance. Perform other tasks as assigned. PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES Operate forklift. Climb steps on a regular and daily basis. Standing for extended periods on a regular and daily basis. Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds unassisted on a regular and daily basis. Ability to safely use hand tools and equipment for installation, disassembly, and testing of electronic, pneumatic, and electrical devices. Some bending, twisting, and turning while lifting and operating equipment, on a daily basis. Reading computer screens and documents on a regular basis. TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES Basic math, reading, writing, and recordkeeping skills. Strong communication skills are required. Basic PC skills, including Excel and ERP systems. Able to determine the best tool or piece of equipment to complete a task. Ability to perform routine work assignments, multi-tasking, and follow instructions with close supervision; ability to work well under pressure. Compliance with systems/programs similar to Givaudan's Quality, EHS, and Food Safety programs. Compliance with applicable local, state, and federal regulatory requirements as defined Givaudan procedures/policies. Compliance with applicable 3rd party certification requirements as defined by Givaudan procedures/policies. PRIMARY QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or equivalent required. Vocational diploma in Technical Engineering or related discipline (vocational high school or Associates level) required. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Minimum 3 years manufacturing or plant operation experience preferred. Minimum 1-year forklift operation experience preferred. Able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
