Role Overview: As an Associate Attorney at HeplerBroom, you will be integral to managing a diverse range of defense cases under the mentorship of senior partners. Your responsibilities will include: Conducting comprehensive research and analysis of legal sources, including statutes, regulations, ordinances, court rulings, and legal opinions. Monitoring case files to ensure deadlines are met while investigating facts and legal issues to identify potential causes of action. Assisting with document analysis and the written discovery process. Effectively conducting depositions. Regularly appearing in court for hearings and proceedings. Supporting trial preparation and participating in the trial of professional liability cases. Independently managing a litigation caseload from inception to resolution. Qualifications: Legal Credentials: Licensed and in good standing with the Illinois bar; Missouri license preferred but not required. Skills and Experience: Strong organizational and communication skills, a proactive approach to seeking guidance, solid research, and analytical abilities, along with preferred deposition and meaningful litigation experience.
