Job Type Full-time Description The Card Services Specialist under general supervision, but following established policies and procedures, assists with the operational aspects of the credit union's card services programs. Classification: Non-Exempt Key Responsibilities: Processes approved credit card applications; orders cards and sets up member files in computer system; verifies accuracy of cards issued and sends cards to member. Performs operational services functions involved in the support of debit and credit cards including card ordering, card maintenance, transaction research, and member support (i.e. communicating with external and internal members and third party service providers). Accurately processes all card requests within receipt and with zero errors. Maintain a courteous working relationship with internal and external customers. Troubleshoot and resolve member and internal inquiries in a timely, friendly and accurate manner. Proactively seek opportunities to cross sell products and services to members as appropriate. Prepares related reports and accounts; reports and tracks various promotion and organizational activities. Promptly maintains all files and records so that they are current / real time. Maintains related files and control records. Internal control with return of plastic; set up new accounts, verify member information and close out old plastic and transfer balance to new plastic. On a daily basis, reviews and works audit reports for debit/credit cards including fraud reports and foreign activity reports for suspicious activity. Block all identified accounts as soon as receiving blocking instructions and work L/S queue daily. Adhere to credit union policies and procedures; stays knowledgeable of and complies with applicable laws and regulations, including BSA/AML and OFAC. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Experience Two years to five years of similar or related experience. Two years of dispute resolution preferred Education A high school education or GED. Interpersonal Skills A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact. Work involves extensive personal contact with others and/or is usually of a personal or sensitive nature. Work may involve motivating or influencing others. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary. Other Skills Must have good communication skills. 10-key calculator, typewriter, and keyboard skills. Other Requirements: Physical Requirements While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is often required to sit and use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Occasionally lift and move objects weighing up to 20 pounds. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
