Additional Job Description: West Virginia University Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute and the Department of Neurology in the WVU School of Medicine are seeking a Chief of Neuromuscular Disease qualified for appointment at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor rank. The successful candidate will be expected to practice in Morgantown, WV. Candidate will join an active team including neurologists, neuro- pathologists, and physical, occupational, and speech therapists for collaboration in the areas of patient care, research, and education. WVU Neurology has an active multidisciplinary ALS clinic and the only MDA clinic in West Virginia. This key position represents an outstanding opportunity within our comprehensive, academic-based multi-state healthcare system. The successful candidate will be a creative and dynamic individual with excellent leadership, research, teaching, administrative and communication skills. As well, the individual will work collaboratively with leadership in the development of multi-disciplinary and health system-wide programs. The primary responsibilities of the Chief are to oversee administrative and financial operations for the division, lead growth of new clinical programs, and to define and implement the educational, research/scholarly, and clinical service missions of the division, department, and institute. In this role, you will report directly to the Chair of Neurology. The successful candidate will practice in the areas of neurology and neuromuscular disease. In addition to providing excellent patient care, the successful candidate will also be actively involved in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows. Successful candidates must have an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and be eligible for state medical licensure. Successful candidate must have completed a neurology residency program and neuromuscular fellowship program. Successful candidates must be board certified/eligible in neurology. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.
