Primary Responsibilities: Responsible for managing the daily operations of the KCM Corporate Accounting department, which includes the development, training and mentoring of staff, working with the Vice President of Corporate Accounting to establish departmental procedures and the assurance that they are consistently applied across the portfolio. Ultimately responsible for ensuring that the financial statements are properly stated, including all supporting schedules. Performs month-end closing and prepares monthly financial statements. Prepares annual budget and projections for corporate entity. Prepares Business Plans for Funds and coordinates Fund audits. Prepares Interest Rate Break Even Analysis and Fund Cash Flow and Liquidity Analysis. Coordinates the year end true up process so that all properties pay their proper share of allocated corporate expenses. Reviews and reconciles general ledger account balances including related party tie outs. Coordinates the preparation of year end 1099's. Maintains a favorable working relationship with all other company departments and KCM team members to promote productivity and efficiency/effectiveness. Provides guidance and direction to accounting department staff. Performs all duties and responsibilities in a timely and effective manner in accordance with established company policies to achieve the overall objectives of this position. Performs other duties and responsibilities as required or requested. What You Bring to Us: Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent. Must have 5+ years of general accounting experience, 2+ years management. Thorough knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and PC spreadsheets software needed. Must be detail oriented, organized and be able to work independently. Self-directed, able to create a plan, prioritize initiatives and execute independently and in collaboration with others to agreed deadlines. Must possess analytical skills with strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses. Must be able to effectively handle multiple projects concurrently. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal with strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization and with staff at remote locations.
