Job purpose The Maintenance Tech Position is a position that works performing multiple duties for production, maintaining and/or monitoring equipment when production is being run. Position will need to be able to work on equipment that produces both Vinyl and Glass. The Tech is a very important part of the process and is required to find and fix the problem in a timely manner. Duties and responsibilities Flexibility of work hours including mandatory OT when business needs require. Ability to safely work with and around moving equipment Ability to communicate in a concise, polite, and respectful manner with team members. Regular/dependable attendance consistent with attendance guidelines is required. Comply with safety, quality, and production requirements and procedures. Ability to meet physical requirements of the job. Ability to learn and perform tasks on different equipment. Perform basic preventative maintenance duties. Maintain good housekeeping. Capable of safely operating hand tools; wrenches, screwdrivers, tape measures, etc Operating forklift and scissor lift. Wincore certification process will be implemented Monitor equipment operation to ensure proper functioning Basic maintenance hand tools will be needed General facilities maintenance/housekeeping required Other duties as assigned Qualifications, Skills and Abilities Must be 18 years of age or older. Pass drug screen. Pass pre-employment tests. Pass pre-work ability/ modified functional capacity screen, if required for position. Successful completion of pre-screen testing (mechanical, following instructions, numerical computation), if required for position. Manufacturing related experience is preferred. Job specific experience is preferred. High school diploma or GED preferred. Decision making / problem solving in a manufacturing environment with minimal supervision. Use of hand tools and machinery is required. Requires above average communication skills and the cognitive ability to learn the safety, quality, and productivity standards. Familiarity with American units of measure for weight, time, and distance. Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Use of measurement devices. Accuracy and attention to detail Adaptability Developmental Competencies Incumbents must be able to identify and differentiate between individual parts: Must have some electrical background. Must have a mechanical background. Must have some computer background. Must be willing to work any shift. Must be willing to travel. Must be willing to take LOTO training. Working conditions Drug free workplace. Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses/side shields, gloves, safety shoes. Noise level requires hearing protection in designated areas. Seasonal high temperatures and humidity. Work in a team environment. Frequent handling of plastic, vinyl, wood, metal, and glass. Push or pull with up to 45 lbs. of force on an occasional basis when moving products. Generate up to 25 lbs. of grip strength on an occasional basis with each hand while handling products. Generate up to 15 lbs. of pinch strength on an occasional basis with each hand while handling products. Display average coordination eye-hand coordination while using both hands on a continuous basis while performing job tasks. This job requires the use of close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception. Perform elevated work on an occasional basis when handling products. Stoop, kneel or squat on an occasional basis when handling products. Reach forward and to the side on a frequent basis when handling products. Stand on a continuous basis and walk on a frequent basis during the course of each shift. Able to stand and perform repetitive tasks up to 12 hours per day.
