SusieCakes is seeking a Dish Prep team member who enjoys being in the back of house working in a bakery setting, cleaning & organizing, being a part of a team, and wants to grow their career. Pay is set to range from $20-22/HR + Tips ($2-3HR average) Schedule: FT hours range from 33-40 hours per week PT hours range from 25-32 hours per week Must have open availability including weekends Our dishwasher/food preparer is a vital part of the team. They are the responsible for cleaning all the dishware designated for our products. 90% of this role is maintaining the dish efficiency in the kitchen and 10% is assisting with food preparation. RESPONSIBILITIES: Manage & operate dishwashing, keeping the back area clean and organized Take pride in daily cleaning i.e. sinks, drains, metro shelves, trash bins, floors, walk-in freezer/refrigerator, grease traps (if applicable) Prepare baked goods according to recipes and standard operating procedures including, but not limited to, scooping cookies, cutting bars/cookies, mixing buttercreams, etc. Ensure all food is prepared, handled and stored according to all required food safety code standards and maintain a clean and sanitary work environment Report any sanitation or janitorial issues to manager on duty Operate and properly use bakery equipment according to recipes/standard operating procedures, i.e. mixers, induction burners, dishwasher, etc. Monitor cleaning supplies inventory levels BENEFITS & PERKS: • Flexible work schedule • Free non-slip shoes (annually!) • Birthday month PTO with complimentary cake • Company holidays off (Thanksgiving, December 25th-27th, and New Year's Day) • Medical, dental, vision insurance • Vacation, 401k, FSA • Pet rescue reimbursement and pet insurance • Flexible return to work schedule for maternity leave • Generous discounts to all our delicious desserts QUALIFICATIONS: Previous dishwashing or entry level food handling experience a plus Must be able to safely utilize all bakery equipment PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Frequent walking, kneeling, bending, and reaching overhead Able to stand for extended periods of time Must be able to lift, move and carry up to 50 pounds EDUCATION: High school diploma or GED OTHER: Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed In accordance with California law, the expected salary range for this California position is between $20 and $22 per hour. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
