About the Opportunity Reporting to the Head of Sales for the Americas, the Sales, Market & Business Development Manager is responsible for managing the sales and marketing functions for the Release Liner Business Unit. This is considered a key role for strengthening the brand and reputation in the marketplace. The Sales, Market & Business Development Manager also monitors key markets to identify information with strategic significance and works with marketing to develop sales operating plans and ensure alignment with the plan. This position also manages significant and/or strategic accounts. Essential Functions and Primary Responsibilities: Follow Ahlstrom's manufacturing and hygiene processes, procedures and policies, as applicable to the position's areas of responsibility, in order to meet and maintain the safety, quality, and regulatory compliance requirements for each grade of paper. Sets objectives for sales and marketing based on assigned customers. Evaluate market conditions and competitive landscape and identify opportunities to grow the business in attractive markets. Work closely with the supply chain team to ensure capacity is filled and balanced with the most profitable mix possible. Develop 3-month rolling sales forecasts to meet business timelines - these forecasts need to be provided monthly. Recommend pricing on all opportunities based on market pricing, current agreements, asset utilization and current business conditions. Understand cost drivers and identify potential issues and opportunities for new requests. Filter any open requests that may not fit the organization. Profitably grow the business with targeted accounts by developing and implementing key account plans to satisfy customers' strategic needs; Prospect for new customers and markets, plan persuasive approaches and positioning that will convince potential customers to do business with Ahlstrom and, ultimately, achieve financial growth for the company. Identify key decision makers and influencers within the customer's organization and develop a rapport with them, set targets for sales and provide support that will continually improve the relationship. Define customer's needs and identify critical success factors of customer's organization by researching, planning, and assessing customer objectives and challenges using creative sales strategies and models that will lead to new opportunities. Describe customer's business processes, including supplier and end-user linkages, and define key leverage points which drive customer economics. Understand customer's strategic plans and how Ahlstrom can help drive value. All other assignments assigned by management.
