Previous physician practice experience preferred. License: Not specified Certifications: Not specified Must-Have: High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED). Basic medical terminology, electronic scheduling, and electronic medical record experience preferred. Job Description: - Perform diversified office-clerical duties and provide excellent customer service.- Efficiently communicate with patients, families, physicians, providers, and outside facilities.- Schedule and confirm patient appointments and arrivals using the Practice Management System.- Manage patient records and documents; schedule surgical procedures and tests.- Obtain pre-certification for healthcare services; verify insurance coverage and patient demographics.- Perform scanning and manage and update charts to ensure information is complete.- Answer telephones, relay messages, and provide information when necessary.- Maintain files and assist in establishing office systems.- Order office supplies and operate related office equipment.- Attend meetings, take and distribute minutes.- Respect and promote patient rights; respond appropriately to emergencies.- Communicate concerns or problems related to patients or staff with immediate supervisors.- Adhere to infection control standards, particularly hand hygiene.- Utilize appropriate steps in decision-making processes for patient care and practice-based issues.- Collaborate and communicate with the healthcare team.- Complete annual mandatory requirements including Occupational Health Requirements.- Attend mandatory in-services and staff meetings as requested.- Apply cost-containment practices.- Prepare and maintain various statistical Follow all organizational policies and procedures including dress code, behavioral standards, customer service, and attendance. Physical/Mental Demands/Requirements/Work Environment: - Exposure to certain chemicals necessary for tasks.- Use a computer extensively, with occasional lifting or moving objects weighing 15 to 20 pounds.- Frequent movement throughout the department, ability to sit for extended periods, and respond to frequent calls.- Serve all populations.
