Minimum Education Requirements Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school. Residency training program in surgery accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or the American Osteopathic Association (AOA). License & Certifications Board certification in surgery by the American Board of Surgery (ABS). Active and unrestricted medical license in South Carolina . Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
