Description Choate Rosemary Hall has an immediate opening for a per diem Audio-Visual Technician for the Paul Mellon Arts Center and Colony Hall. The A.V. Technician is responsible for supporting the production of external events and/or on-campus events when scheduled and will work in collaboration with the various internal colleagues. The position reports to the Director of the Arts. The Paul Mellon Arts Center is a 760-seat venue and Colony Hall is a 1,100 seat venue that serve both the school and surrounding community by providing an academic-year season that includes student productions, a variety of concerts, and guest artist events. Both facilities also serve the school community as a weekly meeting space, as well as a venue for other school events including several special speaker programs. Job duties: Manage & operate the audio and video technical needs and equipment for scheduled events Collaborate with the Technical Director and Assistant Technical Director on maintaining all audio and video equipment of the School Communicate with the presenters to discuss details such as call time, tech and media needs, and other tech specific information and share that with various internal colleagues as appropriate Requirements Experience and working knowledge of digital consoles, wired and wireless mics and intercom, large format projectors and digital control systems such as Crestron. A background in live sound engineering. A working knowledge of ETC lighting consoles is preferred. Experience hanging and focusing lights, rigging, and handling other theatrical equipment, including working at heights Bachelor's degree in theater and/or 3-5 years of professional experience in the field Physical demands for this position require the ability to remain standing for extended periods of time and lift/push objects up to 50lbs. without assistance.
