Position Description: Non-Invasive Cardiology Opening with The Medical College of Wisconsin and The Zablocki VA Medical Center The Division of Cardiovascular Medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) is recruiting a non-invasive Cardiologist. The position will have a clinical focus within our Academic Practice at Froedtert and Medical College of Wisconsin (FMCW) and at the Milwaukee Zablocki VA Medical Center. The ideal candidate will be a well-rounded clinical cardiologist with good communication skills wanting to be part of a thriving and very collaborative academic practice at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) and the Zablocki VAM Medical. Areas of responsibility will include, but not be limited to a combination of inpatient and outpatient care with ample opportunity for teaching and research. Our academic practice has over 60 cardiologists and has state of the art equipment and new facilities. The comprehensive FMCW cardiac program includes a full complement of complex and structural interventions, Advance Heart Failure with vibrant Heart transplant, MCS, ECMO and Shock programs and complex state of the art EP program. There will be an excellent compensation and benefits package available through MCW and the Milwaukee Zablocki VA Medical Center Initial contributions to MCW and the Milwaukee Zablocki VA Medical Center missions in the areas of patient care, teaching, clinical research, scholarly activities, and administration/service will be as follows: Patient Care: Clinical activities will be primarily focused on clinic and hospital coverage at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee, WI (largest hospital in the state) and the Milwaukee Zablocki VA Medical Center Research, Teaching, and Scholarly Activities: Opportunities for teaching and research exist with dedicated 20% academic time Administration/Service: The candidate will be expected to participate actively in multi-disciplinary conferences organized by the Division. Successful completion of an accredited residency program in Cardiology. Successful completion of a fellowship in cardiovascular disease. Successful completion of additional educational programs necessary to enable Physician to acquire and maintain privileges to perform the range of services contemplated. This includes board eligibility/certification in the specialty being practiced. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Wisconsin license as MD/DO. Board certified or eligible in cardiovascular disease to be board certified or qualified to sit for the boards in primary area of practice at the Hospital. Those applicants who are not board certified at the time of application but who have completed their residency or fellowship training are required to become board certified within seven years of residency or fellowship training. Current ACLS certification required. Valid driver's license. Maintain unrestricted DEA number. Maintain unrestricted ability to participate in Medicare / Medicaid, or other federal or state governmental health care programs. New graduates welcome, mentorship available.
