Software Developer - Customer Experience Behler-Young is looking to add a Software Developer to our award-winning IT team. Not a typical software developer, but a creative problem solver. A process engineer, that's going to ask "Why?". Someone that can have meaningful conversations with our teammates and customers and understand why they're doing what they're doing and ensure it's still the best way. After we've documented the best processes, then we automate. We'll use utilities, technology, and code to streamline those processes to make them as efficient as possible. You are a business professional that presents as one, and can at any moment, host, visit B-Y locations, or visit customers to discuss technological opportunities. This role will be focusing heavily on our external customers, HVAC contractors. You will maintain and improve our ecommerce tools to give the customers a leading buying experience. You will build and maintain tools that will make managing their business and re-ordering with us as seamless as possible. You will learn about customers' systems and software and find ways to integrate those into our own and build automated processes that make doing business with Behler-Young easier than doing business with anyone. Most importantly, you'll be a part of a fun, caring team that will do whatever it takes to help each other and Behler-Young succeed. Once you've solved a problem, you want to document it so that you don't need to recreate the solution later. Things like program development, logic, coding, and updates will be thoroughly documented to help your teammates. You look forward to presenting solutions, doing demos, and conducting training. These may range from Teams meetings to being on stage at large corporate events. Communication and interpersonal skills are important to you, and you demonstrate both effectively. You are important to us, so that means following all assigned responsibilities according to established safety & security policies, guidelines, and legal regulations that will provide you with a safe working environment. Attention to detail is part of the art. You don't overlook anything, you plan, you stay organized, and you manage your time appropriately. The day to day No day is the same. When you're not discussing new opportunities with Customers, you'll spend most of your time building browser-based web solutions using HTML, Vanilla JS, CSS, Bootstrap, and PHP, but you'll also need Next.js, React, C#, Python, and Node.js for various projects. You typically work 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, but you show up for your team when they need you. What you have The drive to learn our systems, to serve the team, and to work autonomously. Bachelor of Computer Science or Information Systems (or equivalent). Experience with full-stack web development from data structures to UX design. Demonstrated programming experience and the ability to show your work. Experience with ERP software, e-commerce, product data, and cloud service providers preferred. Demonstrated ability to learn and work with multiple programing languages and technologies. Consistent ability to communicate in a clear, concise, and professional manner. Ability to lead meetings efficiently and effectively. Ability to do some limited traveling.
