Position Summary The Senior Portfolio Loan Officer is responsible for representing Capital Impact in its lending in underserved communities, focusing particularly on our long history of working with charter schools and community-based health care organizations and others. This position reports to the Director of Portfolio & Asset Management and can be based near any of our offices in Arlington, VA, New York, NY, Detroit, MI, Oakland, CA, or Austin, TX. Essential Responsibilities • Manage the credit quality and earning capacity of the loans within their portfolio according to credit policies and guidelines • Analyze financial statements and spreads to identify credit strengths and risks • Prepare annual reviewsfor each assigned loan to determine overall asset quality • Monitor and determine upgrades or downgrades to loan risk ratings • Prepare credit memos for loan modifications and covenant waivers within a timely manner • Develop strong relationships with existing customers, other financial intermediaries and CDFIs • Refer additional lending opportunities to originations team • Work closely with all lending staff to ensure excellent customer service Requirements Professional Skills, Education and Experience • High School Diploma or equivalent with 8 years of experience in a related field, or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or other relevant fields with a minimum of 2 years' professional work experience in commercial underwriting or loan portfolio/asset management. • Completed coursework or training in credit risk management. • Working knowledge of business lending products, services, and commercial credit. • Demonstrated financial analysis ability and excellent communication skills. • Strong written and organizational skills, detail-oriented and a self-starter. • Possess sufficient credit skills to conduct risk assessment and manage a portfolio. • Prior experience providing credit to or managing loans to health care, education, CDFIs and/or affordable housing organizations is a plus. • Knowledge of New Markets Tax Credits (NMTC) and Community Development Financial Institution (CDFIs) is helpful. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (particularly Word, Excel, and Power Point). • Ability to learn specific customer management software and related programs. Benefits The salary range for this position is $89,961 - $120,098 and is eligible for an annual incentive. This role is eligible to work remote.
