Description Aquatics Coordinator II West Carrollton YMCA West Carrollton, OH Part-Time/Non-Exempt $16.00-$19.20/ Hourly Position Summary: Assists in the supervision of swim lessons and staff trainings. Essential Functions: Maintains CPR/First Aid/O2 and YMCA Swim Lessons Certifications Prepares certificates of achievement for swim instructor completion Assists with Daxko class entry. Enters roster changes into Daxko within a timely manner Assists instructors with maintaining attendance and progress tracker documentation Provides excellent members service. Assist in ensuring the swim lesson instructor schedule is maintained and assist with obtaining replacement staff based on time off request by other aquatic staff. Fills in for staff when necessary. Schedules and assigns all private swim lesson requests. Responsible for health and safety during all aspects of aquatic programming in the absence of the Aquatic Director. Assists the Aquatics Director with swim lesson rosters and accounts. Teach YUSA YSLv6 standard swim lessons and private swim lessons as needed. Prepares certificates of achievement for swim instructor completion Assists in the training and monitoring of swim lesson staff and defers concerns to Program Directors. Assists with monthly in-service/emergency procedure trainings for aquatic staff. Communicates effectively with program participants. Promotes aquatics and other YMCA programs. Communicates to direct supervisor any concerns, needed repairs, or incidents that may need follow-up. Communicates any suggestions to improve the aquatics facility. Runs in-service trainings for swim lesson instructors quarterly Qualifications: High school diploma or GED required. Must be 18 years of age. A 2-year college degree in Physical Education/Exercise Science/related field or applicable experience is preferred. Certification requirements include CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, First Aid, and must hold current YMCA Lifeguard certification (or hold a valid American Safety and Health (ASHI) Lifeguard certification and attend YMCA Crossover with 90 days of employment). Becomes certified as YUSA YSL v6 Instructor 1 year or more of related lifesaving experience preferred. 1 year minimum of supervisory experience is strongly preferred. Basic knowledge of pool chemistry and maintenance. Computer skills needed, particularly with Microsoft Office and email applications, along with ability to learn the internal YMCA software.
