Description JDC is seeking a dedicated accounting professional with a desire to do work supporting a meaningful humanitarian mission as an Accounts Payable Analyst. The Accounts Payable (A/P) Analyst will be the sole staff member in charge of executing full-cycle processing for the global organization, with back-up from the Controller of Operations and as part of a 16-person global Finance team. That includes allocating payments for domestic and overseas personnel, overseas offices and various vendors. The A/P Analyst will be the go-to address for staff reimbursements and vendors payments. Must have a strong balance of customer/client orientation mixed with a firm approach to holding clients accountable to our processes. Thinking about applying? Process and implement all domestic and overseas wire transfers per Director's authorization through JPMorgan Access Process, record, and monitor all payments by checks, including travel advances and vendor payments; Prepare and submit check print files in JP Morgan Access Maintain files of record for payments processed by checks and wire transfers Monitor daily bank balance on JP Morgan Access Execute foreign currency exchange payments via wire transfers using JP Morgan Access Liaise with both local and global staff to handle all field payment inquiries Develop expertise in and enforce company policies on procurement and cash disbursements Become an expert on JDC's work Such other duties as may be assigned from time to time Requirements What qualifications are required to be our Accounts Payable Analyst? Prior professional experience with accounts payable, vendor payments, and staff processing Experience using an ERP such as SAP, Microsoft Dynamics 365, or NetSuite Proficiency in Office 365, including Word, Excel, and SharePoint/OneDrive Knowledge of bank relationships and basic functions required Knowledge of sound internal controls surrounding vendor payments required Outstanding detail orientation - ability to work both efficiently and accurately, with accuracy being the highest priority Excellent communication skills, and ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff to firmly reinforce policies where needed Respectful team mindset, both in working with colleagues in the financial department and working cross-functionally Strong customer orientation, bringing a positive manner to working with internal clients Resilience, comfortable with managing client expectations and able to not take pressure around urgency personally Big-picture thinking; ability to see both the micro of day-to-day A/P and the macro of ERP systems and how they react to different things Dedication to and interest in accounting and A/P; an understanding of its importance to the organization's mission, taking pride in the work Ability to read words and numbers Ability to operate a computer keyboard and other office equipment Ability to communicate in person or over the telephone Additional Preferred Skills and Competencies: Experience using Microsoft PowerApps and Forms strongly preferred Knowledge of SAP strongly preferred Prior experience with foreign exchange contracts and wire transfer Passion for humanitarian work and/or global Jewish service strongly preferred Additional Details Employment Type: Full-Time Hours: 35 hours/week, 8:45 AM - 4:45PM with a 1-hour lunch break Location: Hybrid from New York, NY in office Tuesdays and Thursdays Reports to: Controller of Operations Job Function/Department: Budget and Finance What are the compensation and benefits for an Accounts Payable Analyst? This is a full-time position paid semi-monthly at a salary of $65,000-$75,000 per year; in determining where a candidate falls in that range JDC considers several factors, including skills and experience, internal equity, and cost of living in location of work. This role is exempt per the FLSA.
