About the Job The Group Leader position is responsible for assisting the Program Coordinator in the daily operations of the program. Responsible for the planning, development and implementation of all the before and after school activities under the guidelines of the YMCA School Age Curriculum. Assists in oversight of all program activities, communicating with families and ensuring the children are having a fun, engaging, safe and nurturing experience. SCHEDULE AVAILABLE Monday - Friday (2:00pm - 6:00pm) Some of the exciting things you will do as a Group Leader include but are not limited to: Engage, encourage and implement fun and appropriate activities with children Assist children with homework and other academic instruction Effectively carries out the curriculum and appropriate lesson plans Responsible for the safety of the children at all times, including understanding and being able to implement emergency procedures as necessary Attends parent/child events as required Effectively communicates with parents throughout the program year Maintains an attractive and clean classroom at all times Qualifications and Skills: Must be at least 18 years of age Must have high school diploma or GED Documentation of physical examination and TB skin test Experience with diverse population 1-3 years' experience Must have the critical skill of being able to relate to parents, school staff and children and have a positive, creative attitude CPR/AED certification preferred Bilingual English/Spanish required We offer the following benefits: 10% employer-funded retirement plan with vesting after two years of service with eligibility criteria 403(b) savings plan Free YMCA membership for employee Numerous professional development opportunities Exciting and collaborative work environment Ability to work with creative, talented and diverse individuals!
