Position Summary A Maintenance Technician III is responsible for maintaining all aircraft, its components and parts as outlined on applicable work forms in accordance with Thrive Aviation policies and procedures, manufacturer's manuals, and FAA requirements. A Maintenance Technician III is key to the success of the operation and must perform regular inspections and ensure consistency in their work to meet Thrive Aviation's quality and safety expectations. Requirements Duties & Responsibilities Technicians working on aircraft, components or related parts of aircraft are responsible for performing work outlined on applicable work forms in accordance with Thrive Aviation policies and procedures, manufacturer's manuals, and FAA requirements. Overhaul, maintenance, and repair of airframe components, power plants, aircraft communication, navigation equipment, and associated components in accordance with Thrive Aviation manuals, manufacturer's manuals, bulletins, and orders. Perform pre- and post-flight inspections and clear any discrepancies found during an inspection. Ensure that the appropriate tag is attached to all parts removed from an aircraft in accordance with Thrive Aviation policy. Technicians, in performing their duties, are required to be constantly alert for defective, worn, or failed parts as well as safe working conditions. Proper execution of an Airworthiness Release. Responsible to sign for the accomplishment of work on applicable work forms and records. Responsible for keeping the work area in a clean, safe, and orderly manner. Will be assigned to such housekeeping duties as policing their work and/or repair area as well as maintenance of company property. Process all necessary paperwork as mandated by regulation. Carry out assigned work in an expeditious manner, exercising sound judgement in executing each work project. Provide support to Ground Operation Technicians. Perform mechanical/electrical removals and installations including major Garmin component changes. May Perform RII function as qualified by Quality Assurance. Must be able to interpret and work with wiring diagrams and engineering drawings. May assist in engine and/or APU runs as required. Work in conjunction with the supervisor, oversee daily activities for Thrive Aviation. Provide time estimates and assist with communication with other departments. Train, mentor, and support Maintenance Technician I/II's Qualified RII inspector for at least 1 aircraft type in the fleet. Engine Run and Taxi qualified on company aircraft. Some travel may be a requirement. Other duties as assigned by management Physical Requirements The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform required duties. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: Must be able to walk or stand on level and/or inclined surfaces up to three (3) hours per day and sit for up to five (5) hours per day. May be required to lift up to 30 lbs. to the height of 4 feet and up to 20 lbs. to a height of 7 feet. May be required to carry, push or pull up to 50 pounds. On occasion, you must be able to lift up to 80 pounds. Must be able to crouch, crawl, grasp, or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee and reach above/below shoulders. Must be able to routinely climb / descend stairs. Work Environment The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while in an outdoor environment. The work environment will include a variety of climates as some duties will be performed in hangar space that is not temperature controlled. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can be extremely loud. Experience & Qualifications The most successful candidate in the position will meet most, if not all, of the following criteria. Currently A&P License required. 5 or more years of previous experience as an Aircraft Maintenance Technician, with working knowledge and practical experience with aircraft in our fleet highly desirable A college degree with applicable focus preferred. Highly organized with acute attention to detail accompanying good project and time management skills. Expert level verbal, written, and computer skills while maintaining a professional demeanor and appearance. Expert-level knowledge of 14 CFR Part 135 maintenance requirements and regulations. Must be a team player. Must be able to work well under pressure. Working knowledge of OSHA and company requirements. Knowledge of safe working techniques and procedures. Excellent communication, organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills. Effective interpersonal skills with an ability to work with a team. In-depth knowledge of flight line operations, aircraft/vehicle movement, and safety/hazards. Advanced knowledge of aircraft common and special tools and test equipment, aircraft technical orders/job guides/ publications and schematic diagrams, drawings, charts and technical publications, aircraft engine, landing gear, and flight control systems
