JOB PURPOSE Operate CNC machines to safely produce parts that meet Graco-HiP quality requirements at the lowest cost in a timely manner while minimizing waste of materials and resources. *$3,500 Hiring Bonus offered with the position* This is a 2nd Shift position with work hours 3pm to 1am Monday - Thursday. ESSENTIAL DUTIES Operate a variety of CNC machines within a department. Maintain a clean, safe work area Adjusts tools and replace as needed Perform daily maintenance of machines as required and keep supervisor informed of necessary maintenance beyond operator ability. Must read and understand work orders and blueprints for the parts being run (includes Geometric Tolerancing) Provide accurate inventory counts at all times and keep parts in appropriate areas. Perform necessary side operations during machine cycle tie as required ( i.e., deburring) Work as a team member to aid all shifts and support personnel to operate to departmental standards including quality and productivity goals. Other duties as assigned. POSITION REQUIREMENTS High school diploma or equivalent 2 years of equivalent prior machining experience Ability to pass HiP skill based training checklist for Level C Machinist Two year qualifying machining program or a technical school certificate in machining (preferred) SKILLS Ability to read and understand CNC programs and operational layouts as required Ability to perform a sequence of operations under minimum supervision and consistently maintain the performance levels set for quality and quantity. Understanding of safety rules and regulations to prevent unsafe set-ups, operations, or acts which might cause injury to self, others, or environment Ability to read and understand manufacturing drawings Knowledge of hand measuring instruments, not limited to gauges, calipers, indicators, and micrometers Understanding of basic math, geometry, and algebra Strong PC skills and ability to work with Microsoft products Good Interpersonal, written and oral communication skills DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS Trade school training on CNC machines Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing Certificate PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS In an 10-hour workday, must be able to sit 1.5 hours, stand 7 hours, and walk 1.5 hours A workday may exceed 8 hours to a maximum of no greater than 12 hours Position requires frequent bending and stooping, occasional use of fixed or portable stairs, crouching and kneeling and reaching above the shoulder Must occasionally lift and load up to 30 lbs and not to exceed 45 lbs where a use of a hoist may be necessary Requires frequent repetitive elbow movements and simple grasping with both hands and occasional firm grasping and fine manipulation with both hands: (lifting, dexterity, coordination, mobility, etc).
