Division School for Adaptive and Integrative Learning Open Date 8/8/2024 Category Human Services Position Crisis Intervention Aide II Description Salary - $52,000 Annually Summary Our Crisis Intervention Aide (CIA) level II reports directly to the Coordinator of Behavior Services and works with the School Psychologist, Classroom Teachers and all other staff to ensure the highest quality of care is implemented for each student. Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesObserve and Gather information pertaining to Functional Behavior Assessments and Behavior Intervention Plans, as requested by supervisor. Train staff on the implementation of Behavior Intervention Plans as requested by supervisor. Provide hands on modeling of Behavior Intervention Plan procedures and appropriate behavior intervention techniques. Collect and manage data collection as requested by supervisor. Ensure data collection sheets are available for staff. Implement de-escalation techniques in accordance with ABA basic principles and SCIP-R guidelines, including the use of physical intervention when faced with behaviors that pose a risk to the safety of the individual or others. Organize and assist with morning medical rounds on designated days. Assist with morning transition to school to help ensure safe transport of students. Implement discrete trials according to students learning needs, collect DTT data and report to classroom teacher. Assist with classroom teaching procedures as requested by classroom teacher. Provide flexibility to assist where school needs may require. Communicate with supervisor regarding student/resident behaviors, to include reporting any noted changes in behavior and any potential environmental changes/setting events that may impact behavior. Interact and engage with classroom or residential unit activities that will benefit students/residents. Attend & participate in CSE/team meetings as requested by supervisor. Position Requirements Qualifications A Bachelor's Degree is required. The candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be highly computer literate, and be able to learn new skills quickly. Experience in special education settings, Positive Behavior Intervention Supports, and crisis intervention is required. SCIP certification is a plus. All SAIL at Ferncliff Manor Prospective Employees must obtain all required clearances from NYS Justice Center for the Protection of Persons with Special Needs, and must pass a drug screening prior to assignment.
