Description Position at Rip City Management Become a part of the team behind the team. As our Forklift Driver, you play a crucial role in ensuring seamless transitions between events, contributing to the venue's overall operations and functionality. Reporting to the Conversion Manager, you'll be responsible for converting the arena setup, moving and setting up various sports equipment, assembling sports arenas, and assisting in maintaining equipment and supplies. You will also be a member of the Conversion Event Set Up/Teardown Crew on the Graveyard Shift, where you'll execute nightly transformations of our arenas from one event to the next. IMPORTANT DATES: Interviews for this position will be conducted on Monday August 26th and September 2nd . DAY-TO-DAY: Operate a forklift to safely transport and position equipment and materials within the arena. Ensure proper handling and storage of equipment to prevent damage or injury. Collaborate with other crew members to efficiently complete conversion tasks within specified timeframes. Perform routine maintenance checks on forklift and other equipment, reporting any issues to the supervisor. Adhere to safety protocols and regulations at all times to maintain a safe working environment. Assist in troubleshooting and resolving any technical issues that may arise during setup or teardown. Convert the arena from one performance staging to the next, such as transitioning from a basketball court to a stage or from a stage to an ice rink. Move and set up equipment such as chairs, tables, bleachers, staging for basketball floors, and hockey dashers and glass. Assist in maintaining proper storage of Conversion/Event Services Staff equipment, tools, and supplies as required. WE'D LIKE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU: Possess a valid forklift operator certification Have 1-year experience in a similar position or industry. Are at least 18 years of age. Are able to work graveyard shifts (approx. 10pm-6am), including weekends and sometimes holidays. Understand and communicate conversational English, including following verbal and written directions. Demonstrate effective interpersonal and oral communication skills. Can be on your feet and moving around the venue and Rose Quarter campus for several hours at a time. Can perform tasks on your feet, kneel, bend at the waist, and work on concrete floors for extended periods of time. Can move and lift up to 50 pounds. Are able to complete 50% of your daily tasks through movement, lifting, pushing, walking, and climbing stairs. Demonstrate safe work habits and proper body mechanics when lifting or moving heavy objects. Are able to rotate duties as needed and perform other reasonable job-related duties. You demonstrate the ability to work effectively as a team with people of diverse backgrounds and abilities. PERKS: Starting rate of $23.66 per hour.
