The Chief Compliance & Privacy Officer will oversee the planning, implementation, monitoring, and operation of the Augusta Health Compliance Program. The Chief Compliance & Privacy Officer will exhibit an awareness and understanding of positive ethical and moral principles and the legal obligations related to the organization's operations. The Chief Compliance & Privacy Officer reports to the Chief Operating Officer for day-to-day matters, with a dotted line report to the CEO, and is accountable to the Board's Compliance Committee Chair on all such committee-related matters. The Chief Compliance & Privacy Officer will be a member of management. The Compliance Officer, as needed in their discretion, will have immediate access to the Chief Executive Officer, the Board Compliance Committee, and the Chair of the Board of Directors, to disclose and discuss compliance-related matters. The Chief Compliance & Privacy Officer, through the Chief Legal Officer will also have access to outside legal counsel as necessary and appropriate to carry out the duties set forth in this job description. Requirements Four-year undergraduate degree. Maintain or obtain compliance officer certification from a nationally recognized compliance association within 24 months of commencing job. At least five years' experience in healthcare management or administration Previous health care compliance experience. Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) or equivalent preferred. Certified in Healthcare Privacy Compliance (CHPC) or equivalent preferred. Certified in Healthcare Research Compliance (CHRC) or equivalent preferred. Skills Ability to lead, guide, and direct the organization-wide Compliance Program Effective interpersonal/communications skills with peers, staff, legal counsel, and physicians Clear, concise, and effective writing skills, including the ability to draft effective reports, business correspondence, and policies/procedures Ability to work well both independently and with others within the organization's established structure Ability to represent Augusta Health and its Compliance Program effectively, both internally and externally Ability to meet deadlines and make modifications to compliance-related policies, procedures and activities to meet the needs of the organization to maintain an effective compliance program Ability to recognize the need for and execute compliance activities and tasks, including the incorporation of quality control procedures, on an ongoing basis Working knowledge of laws and issues affecting the health care industry, including the consequences of non-compliance Demonstration of strong-self initiative and self-motivation Demonstration of high degree of credibility, integrity, confidentiality and trust Strong persuasion/influencing skills and perseverance in the investigation of compliance issues Ability to interact well with regulators Ability to act decisively and make good judgments under pressure Excellent organizational and analytical skills Effective presentation style Some benefits of working at Augusta Health include: Generous paid time off to promote work life balance Competitive Pay Retirement Plan Medical, Dental, and Vision Benefits Free onsite parking Tuition reimbursement Onsite childcare Company Information Augusta Health is a mission-driven, independent, nonprofit, community health system located in Fishersville Virginia in Virginia's scenic Shenandoah Valley.
