EchoStar has an exciting opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer - Surface Mount Technology (SMT) with our Hughes Network Services Manufacturing division. This position will be located at our facility in Germantown, MD . Responsibilities Include but Not Limited To Evaluate existing manufacturing processes and workflows to identify areas that could benefit from Lean initiatives. Managed multi- shift production operations to meet daily schedules. Work with managers and supervisor to improve process for Surface Mount Technology and Box Build Departments. Work with equipment designers and manufacturing to develop a cost-effective process for new products. Participate in brainstorming sessions and cross-departmental meetings to ensure collaborating and cohesion. Conduct system tests to verify efficiency, accuracy and production process is successful. Oversee process design and project timelines. Improve manufacturing and production processes to increase productivity. Research and purchase new manufacturing technology. Developing detailed layouts for equipment processes and workflow Perform Root Cause Analysis to support Quality Team on Corrective Actions. Perform Design for Manufacturing (DFM) reviews as needed. Basic Requirements Education: bachelor's degree in industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent is required plus 2 years of work experience or MS degree with relevant course work. 0-2 years' experience working in a Manufacturing environment. Basic understanding of Surface Mount Technology Processes Has earned at least Six Sigma Green belt. Preferred Qualifications Experience with SAP preferred. Excellent communication skills both verbal and written. Previous experience working in an electronical manufacturing facility.
