Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer Location: New Orleans, LA Job Description: Our client, a leading OEM in the New Orleans area, is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in working within manufacturing facilities or fabrication environments, driving efficiency and productivity improvements in production processes. Key Responsibilities: Design, implement, and improve manufacturing processes and systems to enhance production efficiency and reduce waste. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, production, and quality control to ensure smooth workflow and adherence to product specifications. Develop and optimize manufacturing workflows, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards. Reviewing drawings and BOM's for accuracy/efficiency and incorporating into work orders and Manufacturing Operating Instructions. Analyze and troubleshoot production issues, recommending solutions to improve product quality and reduce downtime. Creating / maintaining manufacturing standards, developing manufacturing labor estimates, and ensuring accurate labor budgets Lead continuous improvement initiatives, utilizing lean manufacturing principles to enhance operational performance. Maintain and upgrade equipment to improve reliability and capacity, ensuring proper preventive maintenance programs are in place. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Proven experience in a manufacturing facility or fabrication environment. Experience working within an ISO9001 quality management system. Familiarity with ASME code Section VIII and piping per ASME B31.1 Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, and technologies. Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies, preferred. Ability to analyze complex problems and implement effective solutions. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Preferred Skills: Familiarity with CAD software for design and process planning. Knowledge of safety regulations and industry standards. Experience with automation and robotics in manufacturing environments.
