Description Responsible for the repair, maintenance, installation, troubleshooting and overhaul of all mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, piping, valves and support equipment for the PVSC treatment facility. Must be available for emergencies/job assignments on a 24-hour basis. Minimum Requirements Education: High School Diploma, Vocational School Diploma or equivalency certificate. Advanced training at a technical college or trade school is desirable. Requirements: Knowledge of production machinery, pumps, and other heavy rotating machinery. Ability to understand mechanical drawings as well as pneumatic and hydraulic schematics. Knowledge of machine shop practices and the basic principles of rigging and millwright work. Knowledge of the safety precautions that must be exercised during maintenance and repair. Experience: Minimum of six (6) years of progressive experience. License: Must have a valid New Jersey Driver's License. Working Conditions: Workers are employed in conditions associated with a wastewater treatment plant and sewer collection system and will be required to work indoors and outdoors. Physical Demands: Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without a reasonable accommodation to ensure the health and safety of oneself or others is maintained. Perform physical activities that require considerable use of the arms, legs, and the whole body such as climbing (including ladders), lifting up to 50 lbs., balancing, walking, stooping and handling heavy objects. Must qualify for and possess the ability to perform entry into confined spaces while wearing proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) such as, but not limited to, canister and dust masks as well as SCBA (Self Contained Breathing Apparatus), in compliance with PVSC's Facial Hair Grooming Policy.
