Passaic County Community College is seeking a full-time, grant funded administrative position reporting to the Program Director. The Student Support Services-ESL Program (SSS-ESL) Success Coach will maintain a full-time caseload and provide counseling and academic support to assigned students. The ESL Success Coach will also coordinate and supervise tutorial support services for students and assist the overall development, administration, and assessment of the SSS-ESL Program. Example of Duties: Provide individual and group counseling/coaching to assigned students including academic advisement, career and life planning, financial planning, and transfer planning. Assist with aspects of the program development, student identification and referral, implementing approved activities and workshops and outreach. Assist with the development, supervision, and evaluation of retention programs including the learning communities' initiative and new student orientation. Coordinate and supervise tutorial support services for students, including the hiring, training and supervision of professional tutors, tutor/mentors, and summer program instructors. Assist in the identification and implementation of development and instructional support resources for the special needs program students. Monitor student progress and make referrals for appropriate interventions and services. Maintain accurate student records including but not limited to student progress notes, workshop attendance, and laboratory attendance. Teach assigned section of the College Success course each semester. Participate in professional development and/or in-service training as provided by the College and US Department of Education. Perform related duties, including Saturday and evening duties, as assigned by the Program Director. Qualifications : Bachelor's degree in Counseling, Student Personnel, Social Work, or related field required; Master's degree preferred. Strong verbal, written, organizational, and interpersonal skills. A minimum of three years of experience in an urban environment working with academically disadvantages students preferred. Graduate and/or undergraduate academic background in English Language Teaching preferred. Bilingual Spanish/English preferred. The completion of a background check will be required for the selected candidate.
