SUMMARY: This position is responsible for engaging and assisting people who are residing in hotels, shelters, and other locations, includes supporting clients as they transition to permanent supportive housing or subsidized housing. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Receives referrals for families and individuals experiencing homelessness through the Expedited Housing Initiative. Interprets leasing terminology while disclosing tenancy rights and responsibilities. Assists clients with applying or updating applications for subsidized housing. Assists clients with leasing process through completion to include setting appointments, traveling, and lease signing. Builds rapport and positive working relationships with clients, including disengaged participants. Uses an assertive engagement approach to maintain contact with families and individuals. Provides clients with access to resources such as, food, medication delivery services, and cell phones. Assists clients with obtaining required documents to complete the intake process. Utilizes motivational interviewing and harm reduction strategies to support movement toward housing placement. Actively participates in all required meetings, including Accelerated Moving Events. Follows up with former participants and resolves any outstanding placement issues. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree (BA) from four-year college or university, or one to two years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Certificates, licenses and registrations required: Valid Driver's License. Computer skills required: Spreadsheet Software (Excel); (Word); Electronic Mail Software (Outlook); and Keyboarding. Other skills required: Bachelor's degree (BA) in Social Work or related field preferred. 1+ or more years of experience in case management, social services, or housing-related field required. Knowledgeable of housing and social work terminology and principles.
