Wieland is hiring an Electrical Engineering Project Manager. The electrical engineering project manager will be responsible for leading the development of the electrical systems - automation, integration, controls, etc. - for the East Alton expansion project, Vision 2030. Drive improvements in the development of processing equipment to incorporate "World Class" functioning. Focus on successfully implementing projects while incorporating Plant Team input that results in high performance for safety, reliability, customer service, cost, productivity, and quality in-line with Wieland strategic objectives. Manages capital planning and execution of expansion projects. This role is located in East Alton, IL and will be fully on-site. Responsibilities Electrical Engineering Project Manager Responsibilities: Lead functional area of large CAPEX projects' execution from strategic planning through execution phases. Meet agreed upon time schedules, CAPEX budgets, and performance measures. Implement all projects according to the capital spending guidelines and procedures. Lead, direct, and oversee design of the electrical systems for the entire Vision 2030 project. Incorporate "Best Practices" from Wieland Germany equipment and processes into a U.S.-based installation. Utilize DMAIC approach into the engineering decision making process to help achieve lowest possible manufacturing cost and drive data driven continuous improvement. Pursue safety excellence and culture of proactive employee engagement with engineering team and stakeholders of project work performed by team. Institute an accountability system into team assignments, performance measurements, and evaluations to achieve goals and objectives. Lead project team and manage projects that support the Wieland strategic plan. Investigate and implement alternative technologies that support Plant Team projects to improve yields and internal quality. Lead and oversee the installation, commissioning, and operations activities with equipment suppliers, installation contractors, and plant personnel (engineering, maintenance, operations). Electrical Engineering Project Manager Qualifications: Undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 5 years project engineering and leadership experience in a manufacturing environment. Hot rolling or cold rolling experience in a steel, aluminum, or copper mill is preferred. Strong problem solving and analytical skills. Strong project leadership and implementation skills and experience. Strong communication and leadership skills with hands on experience in a multidiscipline industrial production environment. Position is based in East Alton, IL. Travel will vary with short periods (6 months) of up to 50%. After design phase is complete, travel expected to be below 15%.
