Controller

Job Summary: Reporting directly to the CFO, the Controller will lead all of the accounting operations (general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and tax), financial statement preparation, GAAP compliance, annual audit, policies and procedures, internal controls, cost accounting and inventory control. The ideal candidate has strong technical skills, a continuous improvement mindset, and a strategic approach to problem solving. Duties & Responsibilities: Lead, support, and develop the accounting team while driving efficiency & automation to keep up with the demands of WPP's high-growth business Oversee and own the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes including timely and accurate preparation of all financial statements Drive process improvements to deliver a five day close Lead the financial integration for acquisitions Collaborate on the enhancement of current product costing methodologies Lead relationships with external auditors and tax advisors Provide support for the annual budgeting and planning process Influence change across the organization to support increasingly complex operations Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings Required Skills & Abilities: Lives the company values of integrity, efficiency, accountability, collective intelligence and transparency. Excellent communicator, both written and verbal, able to communicate complex concepts and risk factors Proven experience building, developing, mentoring, and inspiring a high performing professional accounting team High proficiency with ERP systems and excel Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast paced, high performing environment Education & Experience: BS in Accounting or Finance. CPA, MS degree in Finance or Accounting, or MBA a strong plus. Experience in consumer goods manufacturing strongly preferred. Minimum 10 years of experience with a mix of public accounting and public or private company experience Physical Requirements Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times. Occasional travel required
