School Year Group Leader

Description The Hockomock Area YMCA is hiring School Age Groups Leaders for the academic year to work in our After School's Out Program at one of our many sites in North Attleboro, Foxboro, Franklin, Wrentham, Mansfield, or Bellingham. Group Leaders assist in the implementation of the daily routine, supervising the students in the School's Out Program, and ensuring a safe, healthy, and constructive environment for all. Essential Functions Assists in the development and implementation of curriculum and group activities Participates in all aspects of the daily schedule, including: Snack and Lunch (preparation and cleanup) Programming and activities Set up and clean-up of daily program space Provides supervision and guidance to youth Is aware and follows all YMCA health and safety policies and EEC regulations Communicates all concerns to the Site Director in a timely fashion Utilizes positive redirection techniques with children, listening and responding appropriately Demonstrates and maintains a positive attitude towards children, parents, and staff Ensures cleanliness and orderly appearance of assigned areas Requirements Ability and temperament to work in a busy, fast-paced work environment Ability to effectively handle and complete multiple duties and assignments Demonstrates a solid work ethic and communication, organization, and collaboration skills Demonstrates commitment and dedication, and the ability to communicate the mission, goals, and purpose of the YMCA 16 years of age or older Experience working with School Age Children Ability to work independently and accept responsibility First Aid and CPR certified within the first 30 days
