Serves as a resource and provides leadership to less experienced product managers on complex issues. • Serves as a mentor by providing training and guidance to less experienced product managers. • Ensure that the product and marketing efforts support the company's overall strategy and goals. • Works with Sales, Marketing, and Customer Service to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met. • Defines the product strategy and roadmap. • Work with external third parties to assess partnerships and licensing opportunities. • Be an expert with respect to competition. • Develop the core positioning and messaging for the product. • Perform product demos to customers. • Set pricing to meet revenue and profitability goals. • Develop sales tools and demo tools for exhibitions. • Propose an overall budget to ensure success. • Develop product training programs for internal and external use. • Train the sales force and internal staff at quarterly sales meetings. • Act as a leader within the company. • Develop advertising strategy together with Marketing and Sales to increase brand and product recognition. • Participate in developing, setting-up and working trade shows. • Function as a technical resource for inside and outside sales. • Works together with Marketing and Sales to develop promotional materials and digital content for our website and digital marketing activities. • Makes inventory recommendations identifying stocking quantities and recommendations for new products to be added to inventory and recommendations for products to be obsoleted. • Work with Marketing and Engineering to develop product use instructions. • Support Engineering for new product development. • Keeps the supervisor aware in a timely manner of any issues needing the supervisor's involvement as well as any changes in customer or industry trends. • Maintains timely and accurate records and reports, as required. Requirements • High school education with at least some college education in a related field is required. A bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred. Has demonstrated the willingness to pursue appropriate professional certifications and continuing education. Has the necessary training to be proficient in the position. • Has five or more years of experience with the company fully meeting the expectations of a product manager and/or has demonstrated a level of performance and leadership to qualify for the Product Manager position. • Demonstrated success in defining and launching excellent products • Has excellent communications and interpersonal skills to be able to interact effectively with customers and internal company resources • Has excellent computer skills and is proficient with all related company systems and programs • Has strong analytical, problem solving, and project management skills • Effective time management skills in prioritizing and addressing multiple and at times conflicting demands • High energy with a sense of urgency in responding to customer needs • High level of personal and professional integrity • Is committed to the company's values • Attention to detail in maintaining required records and reports.
