Michigan Sugar Company has an immediate, full-time opportunity for a P&W Continuous Improvement Supervisor , located at the Bay City Factory, 2600 S. Euclid Ave., Bay City, MI 48706. JOB SUMMARY The Continuous Improvement Supervisor is responsible for leading and facilitating the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives across the facility. This role focuses on optimizing business processes, reducing waste, and enhancing product quality using PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) and SDCA (Standardize-Do-Check-Act) frameworks. This position will be responsible for supporting all P&W operations and play a key role in training and coaching at all levels of the organization. This role involves working closely with various departments to identify areas of improvement, develop solutions, and implement changes that drive operational excellence. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Ensure that a safe working environment is maintained for all employees and follow established safety guidelines. Promote a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence. Builds relationships, works closely with our Union workforce, and has working knowledge of the contract. Own the training program for the warehouse: support the development of onboarding programs, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) and troubleshooting guides. Apply the SDCA cycle to establish and maintain standard operating procedures, ensuring consistency and sustainability in processes. Plan, develop, and facilitate training using knowledge of the effectiveness of methods such as instructor led training, blended learning, social learning, demonstrations, on-the-job training, meetings, conferences, and workshops. Manage day-to-day operations of the Learning Management System (LMS), including user account management, course uploads, and troubleshooting technical issues. Upload, organize, and manage training materials, including e-learning modules, videos, documents, and assessments. Implement and manage course enrollments, assignments, and tracking. Work cross functionally to develop and deliver training that will improve factory performance. Support the process technician and mechanic helper programs. Document all process improvement activities, methodologies, and outcomes and proactively present reports to management and stakeholders on continuous improvement initiatives. Conduct thorough analysis of existing processes and utilize process mapping techniques to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement and identify root causes. Utilize the PDCA cycle to systematically plan, execute, monitor, and refine improvement projects. Provide training, mentoring, and coaching to employees on continuous improvement tools and techniques. Create detailed process improvement plans, including timelines and resource requirements. Participate with the warehouse management team at Key Performance Indicator (KPI) meetings. Collaborate with cross-functional teams on projects to streamline improvement efforts and ensure successful execution of changes. Identify best practices and create a network to share throughout all locations. Support the rollout of new initiatives within the warehouse, including digital solutions, by applying change management methodologies. All other duties, as assigned. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in business administration, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field. Alternatively extensive industrial experience of 5+ years with progressive supervisory or management responsibilities. Relevant certification (e.g. Six Sigma, Lean) is preferred Training or relevant exposure in supervision skills, quality assurance systems, environmental and safety regulations. Effective written and oral communication skills, solid computer skills including the use of word and power point. Proficiency in giving presentations, processing, spreadsheets, and ability to run and analyze reports. KEY COMPETENCIES Commitment to achieve and promote a high level of safety awareness.
