Position Title: Division Manager - Custom Machining Reports To: Executive Vice President Location: Millat Industries - Kettering, Ohio Hours: Approximately 45 hours per week (on-site) Travel: Less than 10% - Additional opportunities available Position Summary The Division Manager is directly responsible for the financial performance, growth, and long-term sustainability of the Division's operations. This position will lead a team of managers responsible for all manufacturing, process development, engineering, quality assurance, scheduling/planning, procurement, sales and marketing, and safety activities in the Division. This position will regularly collaborate with the Corporate Services teams of human resources, accounting, corporate purchasing, and Information Technology to meet Division objectives. The Division Manager is responsible for maintaining the highest degree of integrity, concern for quality, dedication to meeting and exceeding customer commitments, and the leadership of associates. The Division Manager is responsible for the oversight of technical development, process development, and continuous improvement in manufacturing. This leadership role will have the challenging and rewarding opportunity to drive results, establish organizational systems, and implement key business strategies in all aspects of the Division's operations. Essential Job Functions Reviews the Divisional financial performance to develop and execute a business plan that ensures targets are being met, long-term sustainability is being achieved, and operations are continuously improving. Reinforces the company's culture and ensures a safe, efficient, and rewarding work environment for the team. Reviews and approves adequate plans for the control of planned production, spending, labor efficiency, raw material efficiency, engineering effectiveness, and administrative effectiveness. Ensures all customer quality requirements are met as established with Divisional and Corporate Quality. Assists Account Management with quoting and new business development. Reviews performance against operating plans and standards. Provides reports to subordinates on interpretation of results and approves changes in direction of plans. Defines and recommends objectives in each area of operations of the facility. Develops specific short-term and long-term plans and programs, while meeting financial estimates. Reviews and approves requests for staffing adjustments. Coordinates and collaborates with other departments of the corporation in establishing and carrying out responsibilities. Reviews and endorses/revises cost proposals received from direct reports. Develops plans for new areas of technology and capital investments, with a focus on developing customer-focused solutions and sustainable competitive advantages for our operations. Establish, prepare, implement, revise, and maintain processes, policies, and procedures related to the manufacturing facility. Ensures that duties, responsibilities, authority, and accountability of all direct reports are defined and understood. Completes annual performance evaluations for all direct reports and communicates results and feedback. Identifies training needs, initiates development of direct reports, and recommends effective personnel action. Selects and maintains qualified personnel in all positions reporting directly and recommends compensation for them. Communicates to keep employees informed as to company/facility plans and progress. Coordinates off-shift meetings from time-to-time. Leads company events (bonus meetings, luncheons, business updates, etc.) Oversees and facilitates customer appreciation events. Conducts daily Staff Meetings. Conducts Management Review Meetings monthly. Responsible for approximately 45 associates of various positions, with 5 managers directly reporting. Assumes other activities and responsibilities from time-to-time as directed. Job Classification Requirements Bachelor's Degree or equivalent job experience 10+ years manufacturing experience, with leadership background High-level decision-making skills Excellent customer relation skills Advanced business acumen: negotiating, contract review, financial analysis experience Strong communication skills Proficient computer and technology skills Quality oriented and conscious Always adheres to company safety policies Reliable with excellent attendance record Employee may be required to follow other job related instructions and to perform other duties as requested.
