Job Description Essential Job Functions Position: PLUMBER APPRENTICE Department: ENGINEERING Primary Responsibilities: (Types of Training Included to become a Plumber) • Remodeling in offices, bathrooms, kitchens, and guest rooms. • Install of pipe assemblies, fittings, valves, appliances such as dishwashers, water heaters, stoves, sinks, tubs and toilets. • Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipe to required angels using tools such as pipe-threading machines and pipe cutters. • Repair and maintain commercial and residential plumbing by replacing or mending broken pipes and water leaks • Diagnosing problems and/or failures in plumbing systems. • Installation/maintenance/repairs of various water and gas systems, pipes and fittings, and various items. systems and/or components (e.g. toilets, sinks, vents, faucets, sewer lines, vacuum breakers, hot water heaters, water softeners, garbage disposals, etc.). • Testing for leaks in new and repaired systems with compressed air and/or water for the purpose of ensuring that items are functional and in safe working condition. • Repair and Maintenance of Commercial Gas Kitchen Equipment • Repair and Maintenance of Steam System including condensate return system. • Reading building plans and inspected them to assess material and equipment needs • Working in various environmental conditions and elements (e.g. various temperatures, confined spaces, heights vary from ladder height to roof top, and sub terrain conditions.) Normal Working Hours: (Shift, days) • May vary according to needs of the Hotel In order to be successful in this position, the ideal candidate must meet the following criteria Past Work Experience Requirements: (Type of work, number of years required, equivalent experience, etc.) • Any construction, equipment operation, or plumbing helper roles are a plus. • Any Welding Experience • Use of Power Tools and Shop Tools Educational Requirements: (Degree/Certification, highest required/preferred, field of study) • High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred • Any Trade School or Technical School Training is a plus. • Welding Communication Skills Requirements: (Verbal: phone, in-person, group; Written: memos, documents) • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers • Ability to follow direction in verbal and written form.
