Minimum Qualifications Experience applying civil engineering principles and practices to land development design, transportation construction, and maintenance projects. Experience with land use and development activities including rezoning and public meetings. Experience managing and directing activities related to staffing, budgeting, planning, prioritizing, scheduling, project management oversight, problem-solving, and staff development. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with diverse audiences. Skill in the use of computers and software programs to include MS Office and engineering design software. Skill in developing and managing effective relationships with employees, citizens and public officials. Valid Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain with six (6) months of employment. Valid driver's license Approved safety shoes are required. (Approved safety shoes are eligible for reimbursement). Additional Considerations BS in Civil Engineering or related field; equivalent experience or training may substitute for a degree. Progressively responsible engineering and land development experience in a diversified transportation program. Experience overseeing the work of others. Progressively responsible experience managing a transportation maintenance program.
