Contributions to the organization's success: Day-to-Day Bookkeeping Process and maintain accurate and timely financial records, including accounts payable and receivable, cash and credit card management, employee expense reports, and other core accounting functions. Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations. Technical & Analytical Functions Perform month- and year-end reconciliation and closing activities, analyze and interpret financial data, collaborate with other departments, and prepare detailed financial reports and statements. Support budget and forecasting activities, providing variance analysis and insightful commentary to help guide decision-making. Prepare for and support the annual financial audits, coordinating with external auditors and ensuring timely and accurate completion of audit requirements. Internal Controls & Financial Policies Develop, implement, and maintain robust internal control procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure the reliability of financial reporting. Establish and enforce formal financial policies and procedures. Support change management initiatives for rolling out new policies and processes to Family Promise teams. Provide training and support to ensure smooth transitions and compliance with new procedures. Conduct regular reviews and updates of accounting processes to enhance efficiency and compliance. Organizational Growth & Supervision Collaborate with other teams to support the company's growth initiatives and strategic objectives. While currently not supervising any team members, the role may evolve to include the supervision and mentoring of additional accounting staff as the organization grows. The ideal candidate will have: Bachelor's degreein accounting, finance, or related field required; CPA or CMA certification preferred. Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with a strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements. Demonstrated expertise in budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, data analytics, and internal controls / policies development. Experience overseeing dynamic, multiple million-dollar budgets and financial processes. Experience with nonprofit accounting and bookkeeping. Proficiency in accounting software (i.e., Sage Intacct, QuickBooks) required; payment processing, and digital fundraising platforms preferred. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (i.e., PIVOT tables, advanced formulas for analytics) and computer skills. Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and responsibilities adhering to internal and external deadlines is required. Detail-oriented individual with a high work ethic and the ability to work independently. Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills required. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
