Job Type Full-time Description PURPOSE: A Manager of IT Applications is functionally responsible for enabling application solutions and maintaining our application portfolio to achieve Gentex's business objectives in a strategic, controlled and efficient manner emulating industry best practices. Our manager will lead a team of analysts focused on supporting business objectives through: Enterprise application solution analysis, support and integration. Implementing SAP Basis support across two geo-diverse ERP environments. System process improvement and automation. Systems administration, fortification, resiliency, control and auditability. Application prototyping to evaluate new technologies, functional innovations, and systems enhancements. Vendor management, oversight, and financial stewardship. All phases of an applications life cycle from ideation through sunset. The manager will act as an IT ambassador to the business through comprehensive status reporting, developing risk assessments, and executing upon project plans and priorities. A critical consideration for this leadership position is the ability to balance priorities by thinking both strategically and tactically. DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES, ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Performs analysis of IT application development needs and contributes to development of enterprise level software used across several geo-diverse locations. Act as program manager for all IT projects impacts inclusive of budget, schedule, and resource management. Provide SAP Basis management and oversight to geo-diverse deployments. Leads team in troubleshooting all application issues and assists with resolving ERP issues. Responsible for the application of software development lifecycle and implementation of best practices. Works with outside consultants and vendors to ensure that the IT applications provide enough capability to deliver the desired level of business performance. Coordinates with other departments to understand and meet their business requirements. Evaluates IT application requirements and capabilities and makes recommendations. Responsible for measuring and optimizing application performance. Initiates and leads recovery actions after system failures. Establishes budgetary requirements for ensuring that the applications keep up with business demands and can continue to be supported by manufacturers. Provides support to and trains team in IT application administration and usage. Leads effort to provide regular and updated training to all Gentex employees for IT applications. Monitors and maintains application platform stability. Prepares and maintains documentation of IT application. Develop and manage relationships with service providers, vendors, and consultants. Develop and maintain and tests disaster recovery plans. Performs other duties as necessary or assigned. Requirements EDUCATION AND/OR PROFESSIONAL LICENSE(s): Bachelor's degree in information technology, Business Management or equivalent. SAP S/4 HANA Basis, Project Management, ITIL, or Lean/Six Sigma certifications preferred. EXPERIENCE: 8+ years in IT, 5+ years in an IT Leadership role supporting application and system management. Managing a team of analysts working on enterprise level software and/or projects. Demonstrated ability to successfully lead, develop, and maintain an IT Applications Portfolio and roadmap in collaboration with an overall IT strategy. Current on manufacturing/business applications, trends in IT, and experience evaluating/implementing new innovative IT solutions. Relevant business/industry acumen with the ability to quickly and thoroughly understand business priorities, operations, and IT enablement potential. Well-versed with administration and support of SAP BASIS. Should have hands-on experience with SAP integration, upgrades, etc. Project management and program oversight related to application development and security management. Vendor management experience creating an elastic work force to provide staff augmentation, functional business case development, and off boarded solutions. POSITION SUPERVISES: Directly supervises employees and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; managing employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. CONTACT WITH OTHERS: Direct: Information Security Manager, IT Analysts, and other MIS staff members Overall: This position requires interaction with many internal contacts at Gentex Corporation, including: executives, managers, supervisors, IT staff and hourly employees. This position also requires interaction with external contacts including contractors, consultants, vendors and customers. PHYSICAL/MENTAL/COMMUNICATION REQUIREMENTS: Employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; manual dexterity to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee may lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job may include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The individual must have a high level of comprehension, and a high level of general, verbal, written, and numerical intelligence. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Works majority of the day in a climate-controlled environment, except for or otherwise specified, performing work in the warehouse or manufacturing areas which are subject to changes in temperature and/or noise. TRAVEL: Limited travel required LOCATION: Gentex's Carbondale facility is located in Northeastern Pennsylvania in Lackawanna County. Carbondale, PA is about twenty miles north of Scranton, PA, 50 miles south of Binghamton, NY, and about 125 miles from New York City and Philadelphia.
