Title : HVAC/Electrical Maintenance Reports To : Executive Director of Facilities and Maintenance Terms of Employment : Full Time 12 Months Salary : NC State Salary Schedule FLSA Exempt/ Non-Exempt : Non-Exempt Qualifications: ? Graduation from High School or equivalency, preferably supplemented by vocational training in the electrical and HVA/C field ? Considerable experience in electrical and HVA/C maintenance ? Ability to obtain and maintain a universal CFC Certification ? Valid North Carolina Driver's License. ? NC HVAC Contractor License a plus ? NC Refrigerant Recovery License a plus Supervises: ? None Essential Job Functions: ? Performs skilled and semi-skilled work in the installation, maintenance, and repair of HVA/C systems ? Installs HVA/C equipment ? Measures, cuts, threads, bends, and installs conduit and pulls wires accordingly ? Identifies and replaces defective wiring ? Troubleshoots and repairs faulty thermostats, sensors, wiring and controls ? Performs maintenance and repairs on a variety of heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment ? Installs conduits and wiring necessary for Energy Management controls ? Maintains equipment and supplies ? Cleans, lubricates and performs routine service on all types of HVA/C equipment ? Fabricates and installs piping and duct systems ? Utilizes recycling and recovery equipment ? Maintains general knowledge of the regulations and codes pertaining to HVA/C systems ? Provides assistance to other crews as needed ? Responds to after hour emergencies as requested ? Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor Physical and Cognitive Requirements: The major physical and cognitive requirements listed below are applicable to the HVAC job classification within the Maintenance Department of Hoke County Schools. Work in this classification is considered heavy physical work requiring the exertion of 100 pounds of force occasionally and up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Must be able to: ? Walk, lift, reach, stoop, stand, grasp, balance, climb, kneel, and crouch ? Work in various inside and outside environments being subjected to weather changes, noise, vibrations, job hazards and atmospheric conditions ? Use visual acuity required for depth perception and color perception ? Visually inspect small defects and/or small parts ? Use a variety of measuring devices ? Assemble or fabricate parts at or within arm's length ? Operate machines, motor vehicles, hand tools, and job specific equipment and tools ? Determine the accuracy and thoroughness of work ? Observe general surroundings and activities ? Hear sufficiently to accurately perceive information at normally spoken word levels ? Use communication by means of spoken word to express or exchange ideas ? Safely work in situations of exposure to blood borne pathogens which may require specialized personal protective equipment
