Seeking a talented Controller to be a key leadership team member and a strategic business partner to the President of a successful and growing manufacturing company. This person will own all aspects of the accounting function, drive business performance with financial analysis, and champion risk management. Responsibilities include: Consistently analyze key business performance drivers and implement measures to improve operational performance (material costing, overhead and SG&A spending, working capital efficiency). Provide financial analysis and decision support for growth initiatives, supply chain activities, capital investments and initiatives, etc. Deliver real-time analysis of results for business trends and factors impacting performance, anticipate resulting challenges and opportunities, and translate analysis of performance and results into actionable responses/plans. Identify, monitor, and communicate risks in the overall business. Lead continuous improvement initiatives to eliminate redundancy and process waste, automate data gathering/reporting systems and streamline the reporting processes. Drive cost reduction projects and activities and foster a cost reduction culture. Drive annual financial planning process (forecasted and budgeted financial statements, summarized comparative statements, cost saving initiative summaries, etc.). Lead all aspects of accounting, including general accounting, cost accounting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, billing, general ledger entries, financial statement preparation, bank reconciliations, and payroll. Supervise and mentor department staff. Prepare financial processing, month end close, cash management reports, balance sheet reconciliation, monthly financial statements, and reports for presentation to executive leadership team. Deliver financial results, bank compliance, and audit reporting as needed. Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required. Advanced degree and/or certification(s) a plus. 8+ years of experience in manufacturing sector Accounting/Finance spanning general and cost accounting, financial analysis, and department leadership. Familiarity with ERP systems and advanced MS Excel skills a must. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information to all levels of the organization. Strong action orientation and ability to effectively work collaboratively in a team environment. Open and transparent communicator, who provides regular performance feedback, coaching, and developing skills that encourage growth. Ability to prioritize and plan activities, use time efficiently and develop realistic action plans. Strong analytical and judgment skills with ability to synthesize complex or diverse information into coherent message for internal and external audiences. Ability to make timely decisions, even with imperfect information and input, and exhibit sound and accurate judgments that align with the mission and vision. Ability to identify and communicate challenges and problems in a timely manner by gathering and analyzing information carefully then thinking creatively to resolve issues. Desire to attack the status quo, develop and sustain long term change process, build commitment by explicitly laying out a clear change road map, and monitor progress, adjusting as needed to continually move forward.
