The Real Estate Paralegal will support the Real Estate and Commercial Development practice group. This is a nonexempt administrative position that reports to the Office Administrator and assigned attorneys. There are no direct reports to this position. The paralegal will work a regular schedule as determined by the Office Administrator/HR and/or the assigned attorneys. This role is located in our Charlotte, NC office. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Draft, prepare, and organize closing documents Prepare closing statements Review and plot legal descriptions Prepare and file UCC financing statements and amendments Organize and coordinate document signing Prepare closing binders Acquire maps or drawings from surveyor/assessor's office or title companies Research and investigate to identify any restrictions limiting the use of property Prepare reports for title commitment, title insurance and real estate transfers Search physical and digital records of title insurance and rest estate companies to gather information on private transactions Search physical and digital records of town, city and/or county offices to compile a transaction history and ownership details on an assigned property Requirements 5 or more years of experience as a Paralegal in a law firm or legal department and a paralegal certificate, or the equivalent combination of education and experience; Bachelor's degree preferred.
