Job Summary The Production Manager is responsible for supporting the production department ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency metrics are consistently met. Manage operation through collaborating with leaders in quality, warehousing, maintenance, and engineering while developing strategies aimed to enhancing productivity and reducing cost. Job Responsibilities Safety: Ensure all equipment systems meet our safety program standards and industry best practices. Conduct regular safety inspections, report hazards, and promote a culture of safety among team members. Key Responsibilities: Develop the workforce through supervision, coaching, and training. Responsible for plant and company goals by providing proactive, efficient, and reliable leadership. Ensure all plans and strategies are effectively communicated throughout the department. Manage labor and materials to the production schedule, ensuring customer demands are achieved. Develop and analyze the budget vs. planned forecast; report it to appropriate parties as needed. Monitor KPI and KBI metrics daily and provide recommendations on solutions to any quality findings. Prepare and conduct periodic internal and external audits. Proposes plans and executes projects to eliminate the root cause of manufacturing problems. Coach and influence employees at all levels of the organization. Innovation: Stay current with emerging trends and advancement in equipment technologies, proactively identifying opportunities for improvement and innovation. Foster a culture of innovation, teamwork, and accountability within the technical operations department to drive employee engagement and performance. Job Requirements Bachelor's degree and a minimum of one year of work experience required, or a minimum of five years of progressive job experience including people, project, or account management with leadership and influencing skills required. Prior experience in supervisory roles. Previous manufacturing experience, focused on maintenance, quality and/or production required. Prior experience with the food and beverage industry preferred. Demonstrated ability to lead teams, displaying year-over-year improvement in plant KPIs. Working knowledge of the principles of manufacturing management, supply chain capabilities, including strategies and interdependencies. Capability to partner cross-functionally with other teams and coordinate efforts around process improvement. Solid working knowledge of national, state, and local regulatory requirements in Food Safety, Safety, Environment and Emergency Management. Working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices and LEAN Six Sigma in a manufacturing environment. Strong understanding of and background with HACCP requirements. Strong computer and database application skills. Knowledge of and experience with ISO (22000, 9000, 14001, etc.) or other management system. Working knowledge of the principles of Continuous Improvement, Change Management, and Leadership.
