SUMMARY The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for all activities and performance at the Lewisburg, Tennessee manufacturing location. This role will design, implement and maintain processes that help manufactures increase productivity. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES The Engineer's primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, full accountability for the performance of their assigned programs; including quality, production and continuous improvement of the manufacturing process Maintain, update and control master files per quality requirements, involvement in new product launches to ensure capacity is available, process layout is optimized and required internal and external dates and requirements are met Quote cost and timing for engineering changes required by the customer ensuring capacity is available, change is able to support production requirements, and change is optimized to eliminate scrap and labor Manage assigned program timing, documentation and costs Communicate with sales and vendors Visit customers as needed Identify inefficiencies (scrap, rework, throughput, labor) within assigned programs to determine root cause, identify a solution and implement the solution Address customer concerns, develop an action plan, implement corrections and maintain open communication Manage timing on assigned programs, Customer Visits/Meetings, Plant tryouts, any customer concerns APQP Process, Quote New Business/Eng Changes, Track budget, Plant/Cell layout, Tooling buyoff Change notice, Cost / efficiency improvements Responsible for other duties or special projects as assigned Process Responsibilities Process Input/Responsible/Output responsibilities as identified in each individual quality and/or environmental Process Outline Work instruction responsibilities as identified in each individual quality and/or environmental Work Instruction KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS Bachelor Degree in Engineering required Knowledge and experience with Manufacturing Processes required Strong communication, project management, and organization skills required Manufacturing experience in automotive industry preferred Strong cause and effect analytical abilities for problem solving High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook) Highly detail-oriented with the ability to handle shifting deadlines and priorities A demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment, including remote team members, to be proactive, to work independently of day-to-day supervision and show initiative Understand and follow all quality, safety and environmental processes and procedures Follow all recycling programs Able to work different hours and shifts as needed Maintain a clean and safe work area Use required safety equipment QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
