Position Type: Secretarial/Clerical/Secretary Date Posted: 10/16/2024 Location: District Office Title : INTERIM DISTRICT TRANSPORTATION COORDINATOR Qualifications: High School Diploma; some college coursework preferred. Demonstrates proficiency with technology. Able to problem solve. Demonstrates ability to multi-task and work independently Maintain high integrity and ability to work with public and staff members in a positive manner. Such other qualifications of academic, professional and personal excellence as the Board may specify Must pass criminal background check and fingerprints, pre-employment drug screening and TB test Reports To: School Business Administrator Purpose: To provide students with safe and efficient transportation. Performance Responsibilities: Manage and maintain all aspects of bus routes including specific bus stops, pick-up and drop-off times, seating charts, etc. Communicate on a daily basis with Administration. Coordinate the transportation of all special needs students as determined by the Child Study Team. Coordinate with Gloucester County Special Services to acquire transportation for out-of-district students. Acquire bids for field trips and extra-curricular activities. Primary point of contact for transportation inquiries from the public and handle all concerns & issues including, but not limited to, creating and distributing notices to families in regards to bus routes, bus stops, times and bus passes, and any other notices involving transportation and keeping Administration informed at all times. Communicate with bus contractors regarding driver/contractor safety violations, concerns and/or suggestions of the bus drivers to the School Administrator, school closings due to weather conditions and/or other emergencies. Periodic review of bus tapes/recordings. Work cooperatively with Principals and contractors to schedule bus emergency evacuation drills at all schools. Maintain files for each contractor documenting required training for each of their drivers. Review monthly invoices for accuracy. Additional Duties: Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Child Study Team Supervisor and other central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent.
