SBN - Night Auditor Clerk Department: Guest Svc Employment Type: Fixed Term Contract Location: Global Reporting To: Chief Purser Description To provide guests with friendly, personalized service during the night shift, reconciliation of all onboard accounting. The Night Auditor plays an important part of the guest service team as they have direct contact with the guests. Apart from this they need to make on the spot decisions so satisfy guest requests and maintain the professional Seabourn attitude. The Night Auditor also needs to generate the important daily reports and ensure that all guest accounts are up to date. Reporting relationships: The Night Auditor reports directly to the Chief Purser and supported by the Guest Service Manager. Key Responsibilities Become knowledgeable concerning all aspects of shipboard organization and services, ports of call and shore excursions. Ensures a proper hand over from the day shift (Hand over book, important messages etc.) Producing the Night Report for onboard management. Reconciliation of all onboard accounting. To the maximum extent possible, become aware of each guest name as soon as possible during each cruise. Placing of wake up calls by using the guest names. Receive all executed service checks from bars and other outlets. Posting of all charges into Fidelio for the passenger accounting. Review the signature and the register reading on each check to ensure proper account posting has been accomplished. Balance all departmental postings each day. Prepares billing statements (interim, final) for all guests. Credit card slips need to be sorted, checked off and a reminder letter needs to be send to guests who have not registered a Credit card for their account. Filing of the daily sales checks. Casino count: Witnessing and recording the Cash removed from the table drop boxes. Maintain a cash float for the cashing of passenger travellers checks, making change, etc. This fund to be balanced daily. Shortages are the responsibility of the Night Auditor. Ensure that all guest complaints received at the Seabourn Square are either settled immediately or referred to the management for follow up. Guests to be promptly advised of all actions taken. Print and deliver daily Newspapers. Ensures the Seabourn Square is set up according to Seabourn standards. Generate all budget revenue reports, void logs and accounting checklists. 17. Controls gift order reconciliation sheet. Providing guests with an ultimate cruise experience. Follow Seabourn accounting SOPs. Qualifications Education: Fluent English, written and spoken Experience: Previous ships experience Financial background Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Patient, tactful and courteous Computer skills Able to work under pressure and independently High level of integrity Maintain confidentiality of all communications whether written, email, fax or telephone Good communication skills and a highly approachable personality. Physical Demands & Travel Physical Demands: For the safety of yourself and others on board certain physical abilities shall be maintained. Must be able to bend, climb, perform repetitive motion, and repetitively heavy lift. Must maintain physical fitness to perform tasks associated with job. Travel Requirements: Passport - valid for a minimum of 6 month Flag state issued seaman book General flag state or flag state approved marine fitness medical United States C1/D visa English Marlin test at minimal score of 80% Pre-employment medical examination Working Conditions: Working on a cruise ship is very different from any land-based occupation. Working hours are longer and work is more intense due to the constant demand of the guests. You have to be very flexible in your working hours, which on occasion might have to be changed due to unforeseen circumstances. The Maritime Labour Convention of 2006 however strictly regulates these. Apart from the working hours there are strict rules which all members of the ship's company need to adhere to as stipulated by the Master's standing orders. You work in close proximity with your fellow crewmembers and therefore respect among all is essential.
