The Compliance Associate is responsible for ensuring there are strong controls, effective policies, and clear procedures in place to meet all regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will coordinate and execute regulatory filings, oversee Lord Abbetts AML and financial crimes program, and identify and monitor for suspicious activities as they relate to AML and financial crimes. If AML cases are generated, the Compliance Associate will handle by conducting research, documenting the investigations, and providing initial recommendations to the Compliance Leadership team. In addition to AML, the Compliance Associate will assist in other key Compliance areas such as electronic communications reviews, branch exams, and regulatory exams and inquiries. Well trust you to:: Review AML & CIP programs of key service providers Collect and review documentation for Client Identification Program (CIP) processes and ongoing updates Conduct AML and CIP investigations as necessary Determine investigative and data analytics approach, use sound decision-making and discretion in mitigating corporate risk at each decision point throughout the investigation Provide recommendations for Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) filing by presenting documentation to support findings and prepare SAR as needed Coordinate regulatory exams, submit filings, and respond to inquiries for all Lord Abbett entities Maintain Written Supervisory Procedures and Compliance Manual for the Broker Dealer Manage responses for money laundering related queries/questionnaires such as DDQs and RFPs Handle electronic communications exceptions as generated and escalate to leadership if required Conduct OSJ and Branch exams for the broker dealer Provide back up support for all broker dealer licensing and registrations requirements Perform ad hoc projects or tasks as assigned by the Team Leader You'll need to have:: Four Year College Degree or equivalent experience in the industry At least 5+ years experience in working at an asset manager (preferably within AML, KYC and/or Regulatory Management) Experience reviewing customer transactions for potentially suspicious activity and performing AML related investigations using an AML automated monitoring software Knowledge of the laws applicable to money laundering, including the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), The USA Patriot Act, FinCEN requirements, and SAR requirements Some experience in drafting and maintaining policies and procedures with an Asset Manager Excellent research skills, including experience with online research tools Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (i.e., MS-Word, MS-Excel, MS-Access, MS-PowerPoint and MS-Outlook) Strong writing, analytical, decision making/problem solving and communication skills Able to multitask and complete projects in a timely fashion Strong organizational and time management skills Why Lord Abbett?: Lord Abbett is a leading global independent, privately held investment management company. Compensation Information: Annual base salary for this role is $120,000 - $145,000. Salary is estimated for this role. Actual pay may be different. Discretionary Bonus: Role may be eligible to receive an annual discretionary bonus. Discretionary bonuses are determined by several factors including, but not limited to, firm, team, and individual performance.
