POSITION SUMMARY We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Indirect Sourcing Commodity Manager to join our team who would report directly to the Director of Strategic Sourcing. As an Indirect Sourcing Commodity Manager, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing the procurement process for indirect goods and services within our organization. Your primary focus will be on achieving cost savings, improving supplier performance, and driving operational efficiency. This position will require a high degree of cross functional collaboration with internal stake holders in our manufacturing and distribution facilities. This role will involve a high degree of leadership through complex projects while ensuring there are not interruptions to production or distribution operations. In this role you will be responsible for developing an overall strategy for the Indirect Commodities in collaboration with the Director of Strategic Sourcing. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS The specific minimum competencies needed to perform the essential duties of the job include knowledge, skills, abilities, level of education, and experience necessary for successful performance. These competencies are generally demonstrated through specific service, education, or training. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field. MBA preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain management, preferably within a manufacturing setting. Strong knowledge of indirect procurement categories and best practices. Proven track record of driving cost savings, process improvements, and supplier performance enhancements. Excellent negotiation, contract management, and relationship-building skills. Proficiency in using procurement software and tools, as well as advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to diverse audiences. Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire others. Strong understanding of legal and regulatory requirements related to procurement. Professional certifications such as Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) are a plus. Self-starter mindset with a desire to build new processes in a growing company Multilingual (Spanish or Mandarin) preferred. Level of Experience: Medical device, pharmaceutical, or other regulated industry preferred. APICS CPIM Certification, Six-Sigma Green/Black Belt Certification preferred. Strong experience in Project Management and New Product Introduction. Level of Education: Bachelor's degree in business or a related discipline, and equivalent working experience in planning, master data and/or supply chain analysis of at least 5 years. MBA or MS in Supply Chain or Operations Travel: Ability to travel up to 50% of the time in the first year. Valid passport required. Identify strategic opportunities to improve the effectiveness of the Indirect Sourcing Commodity. Organize and lead projects which support the strategic direction and projects for Supply Chain, Manufacturing and Procurement. Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential suppliers, assess their capabilities, and negotiate favorable contracts and pricing agreements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and develop sourcing strategies that align with organizational goals. Lead supplier selection and evaluation processes, ensuring adherence to quality, cost, and delivery requirements. Manage supplier relationships, including conducting regular performance reviews, addressing issues, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. Monitor market trends and industry developments to identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and risk mitigation. Implement and maintain procurement policies, procedures, and systems to ensure compliance with internal and external regulations. Analyze spend data and develop reports to track key performance indicators, identify trends, and present recommendations for cost reduction and process optimization. Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to track and report savings achieved through strategic sourcing initiatives. Stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices in procurement and supply chain management to drive innovation and efficiency within the organization. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior members of the procurement team, fostering their professional development. Foster strong relationships with internal stakeholders, such as finance, legal, and operations, to ensure alignment and support for sourcing initiatives.
