Lead Field Application Scientist Spear Bio, based in Woburn MA, is an innovative leader in providing scalable solutions for ultra-sensitive protein biomarker measurements. The Lead Field Application Scientist is a leadership role in the Application Support team. The Application Support team is responsible for product and technical support of all Spear Bio solutions for customers and strategic partners - ensuring overall product performance in the field and customer success. The role reports directly to the Head of Application Support and will be a critical member of the Commercial Team. In addition to the day-to-day Application Support responsibilities, the Lead Field Application Scientist will be expected to take on management responsibilities of more complex, high-value, or strategic customer accounts and participate in strategy, planning and cross functional collaborations with the Head of Application Support. As Spear Bio grows, the Lead Field Application Scientist may take on people management responsibilities. The Lead Field Application Scientist will be expected to be an expert on the platform, the technology, and its applications. IN ORDER TO APPLY FOR THIS POSITION, CLICK ON THIS LINK: Responsibilities: Leads day-to-day technical support and customer interactions to ensure customer success. Responsible for technical account management of specific large and strategic customers. Leads pre-sales activities conducting presentations on Spear Bio products, technology and platform to customers in support of business development and distribution partners. Performs laboratory experiments following defined protocols and company procedures for existing or new products in support of customer applications. Identifies and summarizes opportunities for new product features and workflows. Provides support and training to distribution partners and their application scientists and sales teams. Provides deep product knowledge in support of customer operations. Triages and leads escalated engagements involving product and application challenges that cannot be solved by core Field Application Scientists leading key customers to solutions. Develops technical customer content with inputs from internal and external partners, including new data & application notes, new workflows, and assay solutions. Works cross-functionally to lead and create external technical documentation including IFUs, product data sheets, and application note production. Participates in voice of customer activities by summarizing pain points and potential solutions as inputs of the new product development process in collaboration with Product Management. Identifies opportunities for process optimization within the Application Support function to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction and communicates findings to Head of Application Support. Ability to take on people management responsibilities of Field Application Scientists. Maintains up-to-date knowledge on competitors and key applications and develops operational and commercial strategies for the successful adoption of Spear Bio products. Represents Spear Bio and presents at conferences, tradeshows, and academic lectures. Requirements PhD in Biology, Biochemistry, Neuroscience, or Bioengineering with extensive immunoassay experience, and similarly relevant BS/MS with >2-3 years' industry field applications experience. Strong network in drug development, academic and contract research world is preferred. Strong understanding of immunoassay technologies, methods, and strategies. Liquid handling and automation experience preferred In-depth knowledge in immunology, oncology, or neurology preferred.
