The primary responsibility of the Surgery Practice Manager is to oversee and coordinate daily support functions for all surgeons. The Surgery Practice Manager is part of the hospital clinical services team and assists with the organization, direction, management, and evaluation of all Surgical Services. Surgery Practice Manager impacts the continuing goal of providing the very best in surgical care by promoting the philosophy, mission, and core values of the Schwarzman Animal Medical Center. The Surgery Practice Manager works in an LVT capacity approximately 60% of the time and oversees surgical service LVTs, Surgery Patient Care Assistants, OR Assistants, and Surgery Coordinators. Minimum Qualifications Current NYS Veterinary Technician license required Minimum 5 years 'experience as an LVT Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, equipment, patients scheduling, and other areas as applicable Ability to work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment Demonstrate a high level of initiative independently and within a team environment Demonstrates leadership associated with the core values of the Schwarzman Animal Medical Center Ability to communicate professionally and effectively Motivated self-starter, able to work with minimal supervision Education: Associate or bachelor's degree from an AVMA accredited Veterinary Technology school Experience: Minimum 5 years' experience as an LVT Leadership experience necessary Duties and responsibilities Oversees and coordinates daily support functions for all surgeons Provide anesthesia support for surgical services Proficient knowledge of surgical equipment, surgical instrumentation, aseptic techniques, Shock Wave/PRP, surgical scopes, portable X-Ray and C-arm, and Stryker Integration System within the surgical area Recruit, mentor and train Patient Care Assistants, OR Assistants, Surgery Coordinators, and Surgery LVTs Assist in developing, planning, and implementing training schedules, process improvement plans, and evaluations for surgery coordinators, patient care assistants, and LVTs Collaborate with surgery service Team Leaders, OR Educator, OR Manager, Operations Manager, and Surgery Director to continually improve workflow and provide quality standards for patient care Participate in cardiopulmonary resuscitation events and stabilization of critical patients Direct Reports : Surgery Coordinators, Patient Care Assistants, OR Assistants Benefits Competitive salary Generous sign-on bonus Four-day work week Comprehensive benefits including health insurance with medical, dental, and vision benefits, very generous paid time off, paid continuing education time-off and stipend, and 403-b retirement plan with employer contribution.
