This Opportunity FPA is currently searching for a full-time Project Engineer - Solid Waste at our Headquarters in Wall Township, NJ. (It may be possible to work in one of our other Regional Offices in Newark, NJ or Camden, NJ). As a member of FPA's Solid Waste Department, the Project Engineer won't just be a passive observer - you'll be at the heart of the action. Your role is essential in shaping the planning, design, and execution of projects that revolve around solid waste, landfill management, landfill gas collection systems and environmental regulatory compliance. You'll be a key player in ensuring project success and upholding our unwavering dedication to environmental sustainability. This position reports directly to the Director of Infrastructure. Core Responsibilities Project Support: Collaborate with project managers and team members to develop and implement solid waste management projects. Assist in project planning, design, and execution to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Familiarity and experience using MS Office 365, computer aided design tools and software including AutoDesk's AutoCAD and Esri's ArcGIS. Data Collection and Analysis: Collect, organize, and analyze data relevant to solid waste projects, assisting in the development of technical reports and recommendations. Ability to estimate quantities and cost of materials, equipment, labor to determine project budgets and feasibility. Field Work: Participate in site visits and fieldwork, conducting inspections, and gathering data to support project objectives. Work closely with senior engineers and managers to gain technical knowledge and experience in solid waste management and environmental compliance. Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on federal, state, and local solid waste regulations, contributing to project adherence to environmental and regulatory requirements. Prepare and maintain project documentation, including reports, plans, and specifications, with attention to detail and accuracy. Collaborate with clients to understand their needs, respond to inquiries, and support the development of client relationships. Participation in 40hr HAZWOPER Training and Medical Monitoring Program. Required Qualifications Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, or a related field, from an ABET accredited four-year college or university. Five (5) - Ten (10) years of experience in the industry. Licensed Professional Engineer (NJ, NY and/or PA) or ability to acquire PE through reciprocity. Keen interest in solid waste management and environmental engineering. Excellent problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively in a team and adapt to a dynamic work environment. A passion for contributing to environmentally sustainable solutions. Optional Qualifications: Master of Science Degree in Civil or Environmental, or a related field, from an ABET accredited college of university. Membership and active participation in professional societies and associations in the solid waste and/or environmental fields.
