McCarthy Building Companies is seeking an experienced and qualified Senior Electrical Safety Manager to support electrical self-perform activities throughout the National Renewable Energy Business Unit. Must have at least 5+ years of experience managing safety on large commercial construction or Renewable Energy projects. Experience in Renewable Energy projects preferred (Battery Storage & Solar). This is a full-time position that requires extensive travel to locations that span the continental U.S. This position requires 75% travel nationwide. Key Responsibilities Monitor and communicate safety programs and efforts with on-site trade partners and McCarthy employees, ensuring safety is part of our culture and that all new hires have proper safety documents and information. Fully manage self-perform project teams and Safety Professionals to grow and position them for future success. Implement business unit programs, initiatives, and visions over multiple projects. Create and drive a collaborative, positive safety culture with all McCarthy employees, trade partners and owners. Organize, develop and deliver specific training topics or programs that benefit the business unit. Conduct documented safety and health inspections over multiple projects. This is a traveling position. Coordinate with Project Supervision so that necessary protective equipment and safety materials are utilized, adequate first aid materials are available and safety documents are posted on-site. Investigate all injuries and review all accident reports, coordinating corrective measures with McCarthy employees and logging injuries/illnesses for OSHA purposes. Minimize construction hazards and enforce safety policies utilizing the company's disciplinary policy. Record and forward copies of all safety related meetings, programs, safety pre-plans, inspections, correspondence, directives, citations, etc. to the Renewable Energy Safety Director for tracking. Review and Audit Site Specific LOTO, controlled access, and energization plans for multiple projects. Assist in developing task specific work planning processes and audit performance adherence. Skills & Qualifications 5+ years' experience managing safety efforts of solar or energy related projects with a focus on the electrical scopes. Bilingual (English - Spanish) preferred. Bachelor's degree in related field, or Journeyman Wireman License preferred. OSHA 500 and CHST certifications preferred. Current NFPA70e required. Ability to read and build plans around one-line drawings. Ability to manage/administer safety orientations, oversee substance abuse programs, investigate/report on injuries/illnesses/near misses and perform other various safety functions on-site. Ability to work with all construction groups- management, owners, trade partners. Excellent communication, organizational, decision-making, and problem-solving skills. Ability to travel 75% nationwide. For Colorado locations only, In accordance with Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act (SB19-085), we are including McCarthy's good-faith and reasonable estimate of a range of entry level base compensation at the time of the posting. This does not include possible bonus and other benefits which can impact total compensation. Given the dynamic nature of the large-scale commercial construction industry, a candidate's project portfolio and background can change the role and compensation for which that candidate might be qualified. The title and pay range for this role could change based on candidate qualifications and experience. Pay Range: $105,000 - $115,000 For California locations only, the salary range for this position is: $106,000 - $145,000. This does not include possible bonus and other benefits which can impact total compensation. Compensation offered may vary based on work location, experience, qualifications, specialty, training, and market and business considerations, among other factors.
